Ducks and Chickens

Many of our ducks were found in the free section of Craigslist. These little guys provide eggs for our dogs, giving them shiny coats and extra protein. They help to fertilize our property, keep our pest population down, and give us quite a few laughs! 

Our chickens are very special to us. They are Cornish Cross birds and are bred as a “meat bird.” We took them in after a mass retailer put them on clearance for 50 cents. They were small chicks back then but we have successfully helped them grow into happy, healthy birds. They do not have a long life span as a breed but we feel blessed to give them a care-free life.
